L22® Jojoba-Derived Lipid Complex brings a sophisticated mixture of jojoba-derived lipids and esters engineered to recreate characteristics associated with the lipid composition of youthful skin. It provides exceptional emollience, slip and conditioning while contributing to the serum’s remarkably elegant after-feel.

Squalane provides lightweight, highly skin-compatible emollience softening and cushioning without the heaviness traditionally associated with facial oils.

Jojoba-derived lipids complement the skin’s natural lipid environment and contribute to improved softness, flexibility and conditioning.

Antioxidant-rich specialty oils contribute beneficial fatty acids and phytonutrients while helping protect the formula and support healthy-looking skin.

Vitamin E adds antioxidant support while enhancing the conditioning properties of the lipid phase.

And rather than allowing one ingredient to carry the entire formula, these materials work as a lipid system.

Apply your water-based hydration first toner, essence or serum followed by moisturizer if desired.

Then press 1–2 pumps of Barrier Repair Oil Serum into the skin.

This places the lipid treatment where it performs beautifully: over hydrated skin, helping condition the surface and reduce the escape of that precious moisture.

Use morning and/or evening according to your skin’s needs.

FAQS 

Why is the serum naturally colored?

The formula contains naturally colorful antioxidant ingredients including sea buckthorn CO₂ extract and astaxanthin.

Slight natural variations in color between batches can occur with botanical ingredients and do not necessarily indicate a problem with the product.

Will it make my face greasy?

It shouldn’t when appropriately applied.

We deliberately included elegant emollients such as C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, squalane and L22® to improve spreadability and reduce the heavy, greasy sensation commonly associated with traditional facial oils.

Start with 1–2 pumps. More isn’t necessarily better.

Is it good for mature skin?

Absolutely. Mature skin is one of the primary reasons we created this treatment.

The formula combines lipid replenishment with ingredients such as THD Vitamin C, bakuchiol, CoQ10, vitamin E and antioxidant-rich botanical oils, giving us much more than basic moisturization.

Is this only for dry skin?

No. It is particularly beneficial for dry, mature, dehydrated-feeling or lipid-depleted skin, but the elegant emollient system makes it useful whenever the barrier needs additional support.

The amount used can simply be adjusted according to skin type.

Does Barrier Repair hydrate the skin?

Barrier Repair is water-free, so technically it does not hydrate by supplying water.

Instead, it does something equally important: it conditions the skin and helps reduce moisture loss.

For maximum benefit, apply your hydrating toner or serum first and then use Barrier Repair to help support the lipid layer and retain that moisture.

That distinction is important—and I actually think we should educate customers about it.

What is L22® and why is it special?

L22® is a sophisticated lipid complex derived from jojoba and macadamia containing esters, phytosterols, squalene and other lipid components.

It was developed to reproduce characteristics of the lipid profile associated with younger skin.

In Barrier Repair, it contributes to the luxurious skin feel while supporting softness, suppleness and lipid conditioning.

Why does the formula contain both squalane and squalene?

Although their names sound similar, they aren’t identical.

Squalane is an exceptionally stable, lightweight emollient that gives skin softness and slip without excessive heaviness.

Squalene is naturally present in human sebum and is supplied as part of our L22® lipid complex.

Together with the other lipids, they contribute to the sophisticated conditioning profile of the serum.

Can I use it with retinol?

Yes. Barrier Repair can complement a retinoid routine because it provides emollience and barrier-supportive conditioning.

It does not replace your retinoid; it supports the skin around that routine.

Can I use it with Vitamin C?

Yes—and Barrier Repair itself already contains Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THD Ascorbate), an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative.

It can still be incorporated into a routine containing other compatible vitamin C products.

Can I use it every day?

Yes. It can be used AM and/or PM, depending on your skin’s needs.

For oilier skin, a small amount in the evening may be sufficient. Dry or mature skin may enjoy it twice daily.

Why does it cost more than a regular facial oil?

Because you’re not paying for a bottle filled primarily with one inexpensive carrier oil.

Barrier Repair combines L22® advanced lipids, squalane, meadowfoam, baobab, camellia, jojoba, rosehip, moringa, THD Vitamin C, 1% bakuchiol, CoQ10, bisabolol, astaxanthin, sea buckthorn and concentrated botanical extracts in one treatment.
